and rescued general motors. we went ahead and made sure we cut taxes for the middle class. in addition to that, when that occurred, what did romney do? romney said, no, let detroit go bankrupt. we moved in and helped people refinance their homes. governor romney said, no, let foreclosures hit the bottom. but it shouldn't be surprising for a guy who says 47% of the american people are unwilling to take responsibility for their lives. my friend recently in a speech in washington said 30% of the american people are takers. these people are my mom and dad, the people i grew up with, my neighbors. they may more effective tax than governor romney pays in his federal income tax. they are elderly people who in fact are living off of social security. they are veterans and people fighting in afghanistan right now who are, quote, not paying any taxes. i've had it up to here with this notion that 47% -- it's about time they take some responsibility here. and instead of signing pledges to grover norquist not to ask the wealthiest among us to contribute to bring back the middle class, they should be signing

up in montgomery county. a law maker wants the ability to impose a county-wide gas tax. montgomery county council president says the gas tax could fund transportation projects, including the purple line. he says one of the advantages of the county tax is the county would get to keep all of the revenue. the move comes after maryland governor martin o'malley failed his attempts to raise the state's gas tax. >>> driving in the district can be tricky, especially getting around the traffic circles. richard and i were just talking about this. take a look at this video from josh ritts. one decided to drive through logan circle in the gas to get to rhode island avenue. this happened on monday. some did call police, but we don't know what happened after that. i'm not saying that's okay, but the circles can get confusing. this is coming from a local person. the traffic circles get crazy. >> usually, i go around in circles. i don't cut on the grass like that. >> you just keep driving until you get to the right exit. >> wiggle my way out of there. >>> the time right now is 4:55. potential dang
